Indian Railway Welfare Organisation (IRWO)

Indian Railway Welfare Organisation (IRWO) has been set up under the patronage of Ministry of Railways to promote Social Welfare schemes such as providing help to acquire accommodation to serving and retired Railway Employees as a Social Welfare Measure on “No-Profit, No-Loss” basis. An appropriate name for Indian Railway Welfare Organisation (IRWO) would have been Indian Railway Welfare Housing Organisation on the lines of AWHO and CGEWHO as at present housing is the only welfare activity taken up by IRWO for the Railway employees.
